This position is responsible for creating, developing, and executing all aspects of events and programs designed to fulfill the alumni association’s mission. The senior director of alumni engagement will build and nurture relationships with a variety of alumni groups, plan and execute special events while collaborating with internal teams and serving as the liaison to designated groups. As with all members of the programming staff, the senior director of alumni engagement will serve as an ambassador for both the alumni association and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The position will provide leadership for the NAA staff through exemplary professionalism and work ethic. Must be available to work some weekend and evening hours, including football game days, and occasional travel may be required.

MinimumRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience in event planning, volunteer management, program development, leadership or related experiences required.
- Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and nurture strong relationships necessary.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Advanced Degree in leadership, communications, marketing or higher education is desirable.
- Experience working in higher education or the non-profit sector is also desirable.
- Excellent writing and public speaking skills are helpful.
