Secondary Education - Part Time Lecturer Pool
The Department of Secondary Education at CSUF invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer Pool. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments are temporary, often made just prior to the start of an academic term, and require availability on very short notice.
ResponsibilitiesTeach courses in the Single‑Subject Credential Program and the Master’s Program as assigned by the department. Responsibilities will be defined for each teaching assignment and may include curriculum development, assessment, and participation in departmental meetings.
Required Qualifications- MA, MS, Ph.D., or Ed.D. in education or a related field (depending on the program)
- Minimum of three years of experience as a credentialed teacher of culturally and linguistically diverse adolescents, or equivalent experience (provide description)
- Commitment to Just, Equitable, and Inclusive education
- Knowledge of CSUF Single Subject Credential Program requirements
- Experience implementing culturally relevant pedagogies
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students from historically marginalized social groups using innovative instructional approaches
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, including effective use of technology
- Experience using anti‑racist teaching and social justice pedagogies
- Expertise in subject‑area disciplines and curriculum and instruction
- Knowledge of California K‑12 content standards for subject areas
- Experience with bilingual or biliterate students
- Experience supporting teachers, teacher candidates, and new teachers
- Knowledge of CCTC Teaching Performance Expectations
- Active participation in subject‑matter professional organizations
All part‑time faculty appointments are for one semester only. Classification range: $5,507–$6,677 per month. Monthly base salaries are prorated to units worked and paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. For a three‑unit assignment, typical starting compensation ranges from $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester.
