Job Overview
Position:
Part‑time Lecturer Pool – Arabic, German, Italian, Korean, and Persian. The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at CSU Fullerton seeks qualified instructors to teach lower‑division (100 and 200 level) undergraduate courses in the listed languages.
- Create, deliver, and assess course content for undergraduate language classes.
- Adhere to departmental scheduling and substitute requirements on short notice.
- Engage with a culturally diverse student body, including first‑generation college students.
Appointments are temporary, often made just before the start of an academic term. Part‑time faculty are contracted as Lecturers under the CSU collective bargaining agreement. Compensation ranges from $5,507 to $6,677 per month, prorated by units.
Required Qualifications- Master’s degree in the language of instruction or a related field.
- Native or native‑like fluency in the instruction language.
- Legal right to work in the United States;
California residency is required at hiring. - No eligibility for visa sponsorship.
- Prior teaching experience at the college or university level with evidence of strong teaching effectiveness.
- Experience working with diverse populations and fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
- Professional experience or capabilities that enhance teaching or student engagement.

All appointments are for one semester initially, with potential retention based on performance. Payment is made in six monthly installments per full semester.
Performance EvaluationRegular evaluations align with the CSU collective bargaining agreement and university policy, determining future teaching assignments.
