Liberal Studies – Part‑Time Lecturer Pool

The Department of Liberal Studies invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer Pool. We seek experienced, well‑organized, and student‑centered individuals to teach the following subject areas.
- The history of Science
- Food studies
- The history of social thought
- The history of the arts and humanities
- Introduction to the humanities or social sciences
- Cross‑cultural humanities and social thought
This pool is assembled as needed. Positions are temporary and often scheduled within a few weeks of the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on short notice.
Required Qualifications- Holder of at least a Master’s degree in a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a wide, culturally diverse range of students, including first‑generation college students.
- Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, inclusive environment.
- Relevant work experience or professional capabilities.
- Experience in interdisciplinary departments or programs.

Appointments and SalaryAll part‑time appointments are made as Lecturers. Initial appointments are for one semester only. Classification range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month (anticipated hiring range up to $6,221 per month). Compensation is prorated to the number of units worked and paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. For a three‑unit assignment, starting compensation ranges from $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester.
