Position Overview
The Director performs administrative duties pertinent to the Winnebago CTE grant from the Department of Education. Responsibilities will include the daily operations and activities associated with grant and collaborating with various Tribal, Federal, and State agencies. The Administrative duties will include: planning, implementation, organization and supervising of project staff. The director additional duties include the following; assuring that records are accurate and complete for the grant, program budget and fiscal management will follow the Winnebago Tribal Policy & procedure and the CTE grant procedure, coordinating all services associated with the grant.
Incumbent will communicate tactfully and effectively with others; establish and maintain effective working relationship with elected and appointed officials public and private agency employees and general public.
Job Duties /Responsibilities
- Demonstrates the Winnebago Tribes core mission, vision, and values.
- Coordinate and direct the daily operation and activities of the Winnebago CTE project from the department of education.
- Provide planning, technical assistance, programming and grant administrative services.
- Responsible for compliance and all grants requirements and Tribal policies including monthly quarterly and annual reports.
- Responsible for local community education coordination, which includes serving as facilitator when needed.
- Evaluate training needs and devise a plan to meet those needs.
- Recruit and maintain the training for staff.
- Negotiates, coordinates and monitors consultant or teaching contracts.
- Liaison with regional, state agencies and educational institution in regards to vocational training.
- Disseminate program information via newspaper, email, brochures, presentations and meetings.
- Attend meeting with Tribal and Non-Tribal agencies and assist in communication details of specific activities.
- Responsible for all program files, including participants statistics.
- Provide technical assistance and referral services to project partners.
- Provide career assessment to individuals for proper vocational training placement.

- Four (4) Year college degree or four (4) years of administrative experience and/or six (6) years combined education and experience in vocational and higher education is required.
- General knowledge in working with federal grants
- Good command of the English required in both orally and written
- Ability to maintain financial management of grant program.
- General knowledge of vocational educational training systems or institutions.
- Experience in working with various tribal, state and federal agencies.
- Supervises the Case Manager
- Supervises Administrative Assistant
- Time management, on boarding of staff
- Responsible to ensure all data is entered in NFocus data base system
- Responsible to ensure all tribal policies and procedures are upheld
- Must be willing to attend meetings and trainings as requested.
- Attend trainings as directed by supervisor.
- Normal to light office work which includes the ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.
- While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
