St. Edward Catholic School in Spring, Texas, seeks a responsible, energetic and nurturing individual who has experience in teaching.

The position will be under the general supervision of the School Principal to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing Archdiocesan approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress, activities, and outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.

• Be mature, responsible, energetic and nurturing with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Hold Texas State Teaching Certification.
• Receive and pass a criminal background check clearance.
• Be trained and verified in Safe Haven child abuse awareness.
• Be committed to the philosophy of Catholic school and value-oriented education.
• Have a current Catechist Certificate or be working towards one.
• Able to handle both face-to-face teaching and remote online teaching.

• Develop and administer school curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives.
• Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction and student learning.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translate lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize available teaching time.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed.
• Instruct students in the principles of responsible digital citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the school system.
• Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
• Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by procedures and applicable laws.
• Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
• Ensure that student conduct conforms to the school's standards as outlined in the Student & Faculty Handbooks, and establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
• Coordinate with other professional staff members, evaluate and assess curriculum, and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
• Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintain inventory records.
• Administer standardized tests in accordance with testing programs.
