Job Description

JOB TITLE: Head Boys' Soccer Coach – Bennington High School.

REPORTS TO: Activities Director.

I. ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES:
To instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training for individual and team success. Instruction also covers moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self‑discipline, self‑confidence, resilience, and cooperation with teammates. Regular, dependable, in‑person attendance is essential.

II. POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:

    Athletic Director/Principal.
  • Wages:
    Negotiated Agreement.
  • Paid Vacation, Paid Holidays, Sick Leave:
    Negotiated Agreement.
  • Work Day:
    Hours to be determined by Activities Director/Principal.
  • Pay Day:
    Negotiated Agreement.

III. POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to Activities Director. Coordinates with Activities Director, Building Principal, Custodians, and Transportation Supervisor.

Position Responsibilities
  • Develop and formulate the program for grades 9‑12.
  • Oversee a systematic skill development program for all athletes.
  • Recommend assistant coaches, coach’s aides and officials to the Activities Director.
Essential Functions
  • Regular, dependable attendance on the job.
  • Perform the identified tasks and possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to carry them out.
  • Perform the physical requirements as outlined in the working environment.
Working Environment

Employee may need to lift, pull, or push up to 50 pounds; must walk frequently, sometimes stand, and repeatedly perform hand, arm, or finger motions. Must meet deadlines under time restraints. Needs good fine‑print vision, depth perception, finger dexterity, and good hearing in noisy environments. Must communicate clearly and concisely through speech.
