The Big Picture

Northwest Community Church (https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor to preach the Word of God and equip the saints for the work of the ministry. We are praying for a man who models a strong walk with Christ, has a clear calling to pastoral ministry, and will lead our congregation in lifting up Jesus and loving each other. The candidate should have strong pulpit skills in exegetical and expository preaching and be able to communicate the Bible clearly and practically.

Primary responsibilities include providing spiritual leadership through preaching and teaching, offering pastoral care, and making visits as needed (see full job description for more details). A strong candidate should have a bachelor’s degree or above from a Bible college or theological seminary, and at least five years of previous experience in a lead pastor role is preferred. The senior pastor must endorse the constitutions and bylaws of Northwest Community Church and the Berean Fellowship of Churches (BFC) and attest to the Full Doctrinal Statement of Northwest Community Church.

Responsibilities

• Preach and teach the Word of God with sound exegesis and clear, practical application.
• Provide spiritual leadership and vision for the church body.
• Offer pastoral care and make visits as needed.
• Oversee and equip ministry leaders and staff as part of a team approach.

Who We Are

Affiliated with the Berean Fellowship of Churches, Northwest Community Church was founded in 1988 with a passion for reaching northwest Lancaster County (Nebraska) and the surrounding area with the Gospel while making disciples through Biblical instruction. Our current staff includes a part-time Care & Connections Pastor, a full-time Youth Pastor, and a secretary. Nearly 90 families call NCC home; the church averages between 170-185 attendees most Sundays, with about 100 in Sunday school weekly.

NCC has a strong reputation for serving children and youth in the community, including a Wednesday after-school children’s ministry averaging 130 students and a Wednesday night youth ministry of more than 80 students weekly. We also have women’s and men’s ministries and several growth groups, and we support eight missionary families globally and domestically.

Where We Are

The village of Malcolm, located about 10 miles northwest of Nebraska’s capital city, has a population of 480. The village is surrounded by farms and the Branched Oak Lake state recreation area is three miles to the north. As a bedroom community to Lincoln, most residents commute to Lincoln for work. Pre-K through high school enrollment in Malcolm Public Schools is around 640 students.
