Counseling - Part-Time Lecturer Pool

The Department of Counseling at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer Pool. The pool is intended to provide temporary teaching coverage in the following areas:
- Counselor Education / Professional Clinical Counseling
- Marriage and Family Therapy
This is a temporary appointment pool. Applicants will be contacted when positions are available and must be available on short notice.
Required Qualifications- A master’s or doctoral degree in Counselor Education or a related field (e.g., Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy).
- For clinical courses (e.g., Beginning and Advanced Practicum) candidates should hold a clinical license (LPCC, LMFT, LCSW, Licensed Psychologist).
- Prior teaching experience at the university level.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse student population, including first‑generation college students.
- Significant teaching experience with diverse populations and a proven track record of creating a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Relevant professional experience and a strong performance record in clinical or counseling education settings.
Part‑time faculty are most needed in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term runs from late August through mid‑December; the Spring term runs from mid‑January through the end of May. Occasionally part‑time faculty are required during Summer sessions.
Performance EvaluationRegular performance evaluations are conducted by the department in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. Evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future assignments. Syllabi, assignments, and reading materials may also be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
Appointment and SalaryAppointments are made on a semester‑long basis under the CSU system’s Collective Bargaining Agreement. Compensation is based on assignment units and is paid in six monthly payments for each semester.
- Classification range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month.
- Anticipated hiring range: up to $6,221 per month.
- Typical three‑unit assignment compensation: $6,608.40 – $7,465.20 per semester.
The position requires a mandate reporter status under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and compliance with CSU Executive Order 1083 (dated July 21, 2017) as a condition of employment.
Applicants will be required to undergo a background check. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background screening as required under CSU policy.
