Portuguese - Part-Time Lecturer Pool

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer pool in Portuguese to teach lower-division (100‑ and 200‑level) undergraduate courses in Portuguese.

This is a pool of part‑time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part‑time pool are temporary and are often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must hold at least a master’s degree in Portuguese or a related field and possess native‑like fluency in Portuguese.
Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first‑generation college students.
This position requires the legal right to work in the United States of America. California State University, Fullerton cannot sponsor part‑time faculty for work visas or permanent residence.
Candidates must reside in the State of California at the time of hiring. This requirement cannot be waived, even for online courses.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching.
Preference will also be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.
