Position OverviewArea of specialty:
Mental health and/or Addiction studies, with an emphasis on clinical/direct service engagement, utilizing an integrated approach to work with individuals, families, and/or communities. The department seeks candidates whose teaching, research, and service reflect a commitment to equity, belonging, and social justice and who prepare undergraduate students to serve diverse populations.
- Teach undergraduate courses in mental health, addiction studies, case management, and community-based interventions.
- Engage in scholarly research and other creative scholarly activities.
- Serve the department, college, university, community, and profession through mentoring students, participating in committees, and collaborating with institutional and community partners.
- Earned doctorate in human services or a closely related field (e.g., counseling, social work, psychology, public health, family studies, human development, applied anthropology) from an accredited institution before appointment.
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds, understanding the impact of lived experiences on student learning.
- Ability to teach lower- and upper-division undergraduate courses related to mental health, addiction studies, case management, and community-based interventions.
- Experience providing clinical and/or applied services to individuals, families, or communities, particularly those impacted by mental health, addiction, or related challenges, using culturally responsive approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research and scholarly work in one or more relevant areas: mental health, addiction, or family/community systems.
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a culturally diverse campus community.
- Undergraduate teaching experience.
- Experience with evidence-based approaches to teaching and community engagement.
- Potential to secure external funding to support research or community-engaged initiatives.

Semifinalists will be asked to submit a micro teaching video lecture.

Benefits and CompensationThe Assistant Professor salary range for is $6,221 to $13,224 monthly, with an anticipated hiring range of $6,808 to $6,944 per month. The salary is competitive and commensurate with rank, experience, and qualifications.
