Cinema and Television Arts (CTVA) – Part‑Time Lecturer Pool Position Overview
Department of Cinema and Television Arts (CTVA) at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer Pool.
Eligible candidates should be experienced, student‑centered, and ready to teach Cinema, Television, and New Media within the following subject areas:
- Critical Studies
- Management
- Production
- Screenwriting
This pool draws on part‑time faculty as needed. Appointments are temporary, often announced shortly before the academic term, and require short‑notice availability.
Required Qualifications- A PhD or MFA degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Prior university‑level teaching experience.
- Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first‑generation college students.
- Significant teaching experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
- Record of professional writing and currency.
- Cover Letter stating which courses you are qualified to teach.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- Unofficial transcripts for highest terminal degree.
- Three references with contact information.
- Inclusive Excellence Statement (no more than 500 words) explaining your perspective on past and future contributions to a diverse student population.
- Sample course syllabi (if available).
- Teaching evaluations (if available).
- Documentation of teaching effectiveness (if available).
- Three letters of recommendation.
- Official transcripts from the institution’s Registrar’s office emailed to crbarnett.
All part‑time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers under the CSU system’s Collective Bargaining Agreement. Initial appointments are one semester.
Classification range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month. Anticipated hiring range: up to $6,221 per month. Compensation is prorated to units worked and paid in six monthly payments per full semester. Example: a three‑unit assignment yields $6,608.40 – $7,465.20 per semester.

Academic Calendar- Fall term: late August to mid‑December.
- Spring term: middle of January to end of May.
- Summer sessions: occasionally needed.
Evaluations follow the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070, determining future assignments and may include syllabus and reading material review.
