Geological Sciences - Part-Time Lecturer Pool Position
The Department of Geological Sciences at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part‑time Lecturer Pool. This pool is used to fill part‑time teaching needs as they arise. Applicants will be contacted when positions become available. Appointments are temporary, often made just before the start of the academic term, and applicants must be available on very short notice.
Required Qualifications- An advanced degree (Master’s, EdD, PhD, or equivalent) in Geology or a related field.
- Prior university‑level teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with a diverse student body, including first‑generation college students.
- Significant teaching experience working with diverse populations, fostering an inclusive environment.
- Relevant professional experience and performance records.

Appointment and SalaryAll part‑time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers under the CSU Collective Bargaining Agreement. Initial appointments are for one semester. The base salary ranges from $5,550.7 to $6,677 per month, with an anticipated hiring range not to exceed $6,221 per month. Compensation is prorated to units worked and paid in six monthly installments per semester. Typical starting compensation for a three‑unit assignment is $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester.

Performance EvaluationRegular performance evaluations are conducted in accordance with the CSU Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These evaluations determine retention and future teaching assignments.
Mandatory ReporterThe position holder is a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083.
Background CheckEmployment is contingent upon satisfactory background screening. New hires and rehired faculty after a break of 12+ months will be required to undergo a new background check.
