Substitute Special Education Teacher

Do you have a college degree, an interest in working part-time, and a love for working with children? If so, a Local Substitute Permit may be a good fit for you! You can obtain a Local Substitute Permit through the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE). To complete your Local Substitute Permit application with NDE, you will need a local substitute request letter from ESU 6.

Qualifications:

• At least 60 college semester credit hours
• Human Relations Training
• Valid Local Substitute Permit

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
• The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit.
• The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
