Job Purpose

The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for providing top-quality care and physical education to the children enrolled at Christ Lincoln Schools. The Physical Education Teacher will challenge and support children to reach their maximum potential to lead them to Love Jesus, Love, Others, and Love Learning. Additionally, the Physical Education Teacher will actively collaborate with the Elementary staff and Administration for a unified approach to learning, and special programs.

Furthermore, the Physical Education Teacher will contribute to maintaining the facility’s cleanliness and aesthetics.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide top-quality care and physical education to the children enrolled at Christ Lincoln Schools.
  • Be knowledgeable of all school policies, emergency protocols and first aid procedures.
  • Give input and constructive recommendations that will benefit the program.
  • Report any suspected cases of abuse, neglect or developmental delay immediately as outlined in policy.
  • Comply with major accident and incident practices and documentation policies.
  • Challenge and support children to reach their maximum potential to lead them to Love Jesus, Love Others, and Love Learning.
  • Plan and conduct daily experiences for the children based on physical educational goals and objectives.
  • Prepare daily and long-range lesson plans enriching the curriculum with technology, guest speakers, field trips, etc. and using a variety of techniques as applicable.
  • Supervise children during structured physical education activities.
  • Maintain proper classroom discipline as outlined by policy.
  • Actively collaborate with Elementary staff and Administration for a unified approach to learning and special programs.
  • Promote, participate, and supervise activities which enhance development in all areas.
  • Develop and maintain rapport with children and parents.
  • Maintain records of progress, attendance and grades to be reported quarterly.
  • Lead preparation efforts for annual Lutheran Schools Track Meet.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in matters pertaining to children and families.
  • Contribute to maintaining the facility’s cleanliness and aesthetics.
  • Provide a neat, organized and stimulating environment with visual displays and take responsibility for the upkeep of educational materials and equipment.
  • Report repair needs timely.
  • Sanitize equipment and educational resources.
Qualifications Knowledge
  • Microsoft Office programs and Google Suite.
  • Child development, classroom management, assessment, and teaching strategies.
  • Physical education techniques and standards.

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education required.
  • Synodically trained in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod or willing to take training in the LCMS colloquy program is preferred.
  • Valid Nebraska Teaching License is required and must be maintained during employment.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required.
