Position OverviewLittle Red School House is seeking a warm, energetic, and dependable Teacher Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work alongside our lead teachers to foster a safe, engaging, and joyful classroom environment. Whether you are assisting with small-group activities, facilitating hands‑on play, or ensuring smooth daily routines, you will play an essential part in helping our young learners grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
Key ResponsibilitiesClassroom Support: Assist lead teachers in implementing our in‑house curriculum through play‑based activities, art projects, storytime, and sensory exploration.
Daily Care & Routines: Help maintain daily schedules, including meal/snack times, rest periods, diapering/potty training, and handwashing transitions.
Active Engagement: Supervise and interact with children during indoor gym time and outdoor play across our age‑specific playgrounds.
Safety & Supervision: Maintain visual and auditory supervision of children at all times, strictly adhering to state licensing ratios and safety standards.
Classroom Upkeep: Keep classroom areas, toys, and learning materials clean, organized, and sanitized throughout the day.
Team
Collaboration:
Partner with lead teachers and center leadership to create a positive, collaborative team culture.
High school diploma or equivalent (required); coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is a plus.
Prior experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool‑aged children in a licensed childcare setting preferred.
Warm, patient, and engaging communication style with young children.
Strong team player with a proactive, reliable attitude.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, sit on the floor, and remain actively on your feet throughout the shift.
Must meet all Nebraska state licensing requirements, including background checks and required health/safety training.
