Wind Hub Technician – GE Vernova

Ge Vernova’s onshore wind capacity is expanding. As new wind sites develop, the Wind Hub Technician plays a critical role in maintaining turbine performance, ensuring safety, quality, and timely warranty repairs. The Technician reports to the Site Lead and collaborates with GE’s remote operations center.

• Execute contractual obligations, including performing maintenance, repair, and replacement of wind turbine components.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable pitch and speed turbines.
• Conduct diagnostic electrical analysis and document all work using computer-based service reporting.
• Assist with site operations as directed by management, providing support with minimal supervision.
• Communicate with GE’s remote operations center when necessary.

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year as a Wind Technician or Wind Mechanic
  * or* 2 years of experience in hydraulic, electrical work plus a Technical Knowledge Assessment and basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Physical ability to lift up to 45 lbs unassisted and climb towers up to 300 ft regularly.
• Comfortable working in various industrial environments and willingness to work rotating shifts and on-call.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or a related field.
• Technical certification in wind energy or electrical engineering.
• Experience in wind turbine operations, hydraulic power tools, and heavy equipment maintenance.
