Location
Based out of our Rushville, IN location.
As an Controls Engineer, you will:- Interact closely with cross functional teams to develop, design, program and debug new/existing equipment and automated/robotic solutions to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with Copeland engineers to ensure controls/automation/programming designs align with Copeland standards.
- Work with outside integrators and machine builders to confirm new equipment meets design requirements and performs as expected.
- Interface with Copeland manufacturing facilities to gain an understanding of their needs and how best to meet them.
- Develop documentation for use by operators & maintenance technicians to perform their duties and assist them in troubleshooting.
- Ensure all production related equipment meet all safety requirements in accordance with applicable industry standards.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer, Electrical or Industrial Engineering/Engineering Technology or equivalent, plus 3 – 5 years of related experience, OR an Associate’s degree with equivalent work experience would also be considered.
- Excellent communication (listening, meeting facilitation, project report-outs, etc.).
- Experience in PLC/HMI programming.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Motivated self-starter and team player, capable of working closely with Management, Product Engineering, Peers, Equipment Suppliers and Plant Personnel.
- Experience and working knowledge of PC applications and Microsoft Online Products.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Assembly operates on a 4-day, 10-hour work-shift schedule. Salaried employees who are not front‑line supervisors work five days to support this arrangement. They can choose between working extended hours from Monday to Thursday with a half day on Friday, or they can opt for full eight‑hour workdays from Monday to Friday.
