ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES – Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Meet with customers to determine their lending needs and oversee and manage the customers’ overall lending relationships.
• Prepare loan presentations and put them forward at loan committee meetings.
• Work with other loan personnel to produce loan documentation.
• Cross sell bank products and services as appropriate to meet customer needs.
• Prepare and review property valuations as assigned in the loan-making process.
• Serve on branch level loan committee and other bank committees as assigned.
• Complete assigned training and remain informed on relevant lending regulations and federal and state requirements.
• Support deposit operations as needed.
• Participate in public outreach activities and services to promote financial literacy and combat fraud.
• Represent the bank in a favorable light within the local community and the banking industry.
• Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent experience in banking or equivalent combination of training and financial industry work experience. Minimum of 2 years of lending experience preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of bank accounting, cash handling and balancing experience and accuracy, and ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, highly preferred
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and ability to understand and explain decisions and recommendations
• Ability to complete work in an acceptable timeframe and manage a variety of detailed tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and with accuracy to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives, and satisfy internal and external customer needs
• Ability to move about the office with occasional reaching and bending, and to lift 15 to 20 pounds.
• Ability to interact successfully with and represent the bank to staff, officers, board members, customers, and the public at all levels
• Ability to travel by automobile or commercial transportation to carry out essential responsibilities/training

A Loan Officer manages lending relationships for various loan types, works with other lending personnel to service the loan portfolio, and represents the bank in the community and banking industry.
