Email: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Find, read, and comprehend diplomatic, informational, military, and economic information from multiple sources (e.g. finished intelligence reports, diplomatic cables, after-action reports).
• Maintain a working knowledge of policy and strategy guidance (e.g. National Security Strategy, Unified Command Plan, National Defense Strategy, Nuclear Posture Review, National Military Strategy, Joint Strategic Campaign Plan, Global Campaign Plans, Operations Plans, Contingency Plans).
• Develop and refine measurement criteria (e.g. measures of effectiveness, measures of performance, scoring standards).
• Apply professional knowledge of the Joint Operations Planning Process, Joint Risk Analysis Methodology, Deterrence Theory, Strategic Deterrence Strategy, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff instructions towards the assessment of the effectiveness of U.S. operations and other global factors (diplomatic/political, information, military, economic) in shaping the Strategic Environment and disparate ways of evaluating Risk (e.g. cost/benefit analysis).
• Independently, collectively, actively, and continuously analyze diplomatic, informational, military, and economic information and determine progression/regression toward achievement of Strategic Deterrence through a set of defined measurement criteria.
• Define, document, and articulate the logic for assessments of progression/regression toward achievement of Strategic Deterrence objectives, effects, and risk.
• Apply and articulate critical thought to identify trends in discreet individual assessments to synthesize information and create key findings and recommendations.
• Identify estimated, intended, and/or resultant cost/benefit of U.S. operations, activities, and investments toward shaping the strategic environment. Conduct analysis and assessment of USSTRATCOM core mission areas:
Global Strike and Nuclear Operations.
• Brief assessment findings to senior leaders and be prepared to answer questions.
• Produce, maintain, and adjust senior-level briefing products on a routine and/or ad hoc basis.
• Collaborate with OSW, Joint Staff, interagency, international, and other Government agencies.
• Actively and continuously collaborate and facilitate support to Joint Force assessments and Operations Assessments. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• At least 7 years of interagency and/or CCMD desk officer international affairs experience.
• Overseas experience.
• At least three years working on Middle East affairs.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in International Affairs, economics, or equivalent.
