PRN/Casual, 0-19 hours a week, no guarantee of hours, flexible scheduling. PotentialHours:
Monday-Friday

This is a non-benefited position.
JOB SUMMARY:The Certified Respiratory Therapist possesses sufficient training and experience to perform respiratory care procedures, as prescribed, without supervision in accordance with department policies and approved procedures. The CRT may also be called upon for making suggestions in matters of pulmonary care. The CRT will share in the clinical evaluation of care, including the establishment of therapeutic objectives and review of care.
JOB DUTIES:Therapeutic Gases:
- Administer oxygen via cannula, simple mask, catheter, venti-mask, non-rebreathing mask, isolette, infant hood and oxygen tanks.
- Administer prescribed medications via inhalation.
- Induce sputum specimen from patient for lab work.
- Administer high humidity therapy including croup tents, hand‑held nebulizers, heated aerosol treatments.
- Administer IPPB treatments as prescribed.
- Instruct and assist patient with Incentive Spirometry.
- Administer bronchial drainage and chest physiotherapy as outlined in department procedures.
- Establish, maintain, monitor, and evaluate continuous ventilatory support, and may share in decisions affecting continuous ventilation based on clinical findings.
- Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitations (CPR). Respond to “STAT” codes.
- Perform airway care, including tracheobronchial aspiration and other procedures aimed at establishing and/or maintaining natural and artificial airways as outlined in department policies and procedures.
- Perform pulmonary function testing.
- Participate as instructor in continuing education program conducted by the department, teaching those clinical skills and classroom subjects in which he/she has demonstrated instructional and subject‑matter competence.
- Perform regular equipment maintenance preparation, cleaning and sterilization.
- Document all prescribed treatments and progress in the patient’s chart.
- Perform EKGs, stress tests, Holter monitors, and event monitoring.
- Assist with outpatient specialty clinics.
- Graduate of accredited Respiratory Care Program.
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner of Nebraska without restrictions.
- BLS
- ACLS, preferred.
- None required, but preferred.
- On‑the‑job training available.
