Job Summary
Business:
Boys Town National Research Hospital. In a career as a Certified Medical Assistant–Ortho, you join us in providing life‑changing care to patients from across the region. In this role, you will provide basic nursing care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, mid‑level provider or physician.
Full time. Hours are either 8:30AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday, or Monday 1:00PM to 5:00PM and Tuesday through Friday 7:30AM to 5:00PM.

Major Responsibilities & Duties- Provide direct care to patients and families in the area of practice.
- Assist provider with procedures and delivery of patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement projects in the clinic environment.
- Attend required staff meetings, continuing education and mandatory in‑services in relevant practice area.
- Demonstrate initiative, accountability and efficient use of time and materials.
- Promote patient advocacy assuring patients’ rights to privacy, safety, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changes in policies or procedures.
- Manage all clinic supply inventory, including placing clinic orders, stocking and managing supply rotation.
- Communicate all clinic maintenance needs to supervisor and coordinate maintenance staff work being done in the clinic.
- Promote a positive team environment.
- Float to satellite clinics to fulfill required staffing needs.
- Provide patient care and education according to the patient population served.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program required.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) required.
- Current registration on the Nebraska Medication Aid Registry or within the first 30 days of employment; registry must be maintained thereafter.
- CPR (BLS) certification required.
- Prior working knowledge of using a personal computer and electronic medical records required.
