• Provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings to ensure they have a meaningful life.
• Work with individuals to support them in achieving their hopes and dreams.
• Maintain consistent engagement with the people you are supporting, whether at home or in the community.
• Work independently, create safe environments, and provide accurate documentation for the support provided during every shift.
• Support people in understanding and exercising their rights.

This work can be physically demanding in some situations. Some physical work examples could be but are not limited to:

• Intervening in aggressive situations and/or physically demanding responsibilities.
• Supporting with lifting individuals to and from wheelchairs.
• Supporting a person to and from a shower.
• Using a gait belt in a safe and dignified way.

• High School diploma or GED.

• Nebraska Child/Adult Protective Services Central Registry check.
• Criminal background check.

• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Providing transportation for the people we support is an essential function of the DSP position. ILC requires all DSPs to have a reliable vehicle at every shift.
