About Villa Höjden

Villa Höjden is a newly built and modern retirement home that was completed in early 2022 and is part of the new residential area Ekebäckshöjd. The residence is close to both Slottsskogen and the city district of Majorna.

The residence has five floors and there are 90 comfortable, spacious, and bright apartments. Each floor has 18 apartments divided into two units, along with a shared kitchen and balcony. We have three floors for dementia care and two for somatic care.

On the seventh floor, there is a party floor with direct access to a fantastic rooftop terrace with wonderful views. There is also a spa room, foot and hair care, and views over Gothenburg’s harbor entrance, Älvsborg Bridge, Karlatornet, and more. There is also a large terrace on the first floor where we have our parties, entertainment, eating, grilling, and other fun activities.

• We are a dementia-certified residence, meaning that everyone who works here is trained in dementia and care through Vardagas Dementia Academy.
• We have a partnership with the company Ung Omsorg. This means that a team of teenagers aged 14–18 years visit us on weekends and holidays. Ung Omsorg does various activities to enhance the lives of our residents.
• You have a group leader who spends most of their time working closely with you in the operation. Becoming a group leader can also be a career opportunity for you as a nursing assistant.
• We collaborate with an activity pedagogue who enhances the lives of our residents. We always have activities going on and we also have animals in care and we have Otto, our therapy dogs.

As a nursing assistant, you are incredibly important!

Your task is to provide quality of life. With your help, our residents can maintain their way of life and their habits. You see each person and interpret what they need. At the same time, you learn a lot about nursing, aging, and how to care for people.

"It’s all about meeting people, being able to adapt and read what people need. You get colleagues and learn a lot about teamwork! There are often many funny things happening, activities, and excursions.

You are closest to the resident and thus have a key role in the team with the nurse, occupational therapist, and physiotherapist. You also participate in care planning and write social documentation.

We would like you to be a trained nursing assistant with several years of experience in elderly care. Good computer skills and experience in documentation are also meritorious. Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing is a requirement, but otherwise, your CV is not the most important thing.
