Personal Assistant for a Boy with a Progressive Disease

We are seeking a compassionate, loving, and empathetic personal assistant for a boy living with a progressive disease and extensive care needs. As an assistant, you will be an important part of his daily life, providing him with support. It is essential that you are comfortable working closely and that you approach your work with a caring heart.

You will never work alone but will always be double-manned.

For our client's health, it is important that you are not in contact with young children, as he is extremely susceptible to infections.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support the boy in his daily activities and routines.
• Assist with his mobility as he is wheelchair-bound.
• Perform care tasks that may include helping with medical equipment.
• Be responsive to his needs and adapt your work according to his daily condition.
• Contribute to a meaningful daily life by being a present and considerate support person.

Qualifications:

• Empathy, humility, and a genuine interest in helping others.
• Ability to handle medical equipment and learn new routines.
• Preferred if you have experience in care or a medical background.

The role involves close and personal collaboration with the boy and his family, and you, along with your colleagues, will play a significant role in his life.

Employment Type: Part-time, approximately 40%, with potential for extra hours as needed.

Working Hours: 2:00 PM-6:00 PM, with the possibility of other times as needed.

Salary: Hourly wage to be agreed upon, with other compensations according to collective agreement.

Start Date: As soon as possible, according to agreement, and will last as long as the assistant assignment continues.
