Location: Winnebago

Shift: Clinic works 7 days a week 24/7, shifts will vary depending on the facility needs

Contract Length: One year with option to extend

Compensation:

  • Regular Pay Rate: $20 -$25 per hour
  • Please keep in mind that payroll is processed on a biweekly basis.
  • Health and Welfare: $5.09/hr (Up to 40 hours worked per week)
  • PTO: 5 days after 6 months, an additional 5 days at 1 year of service
  • Accrued sick days: 1 hour for every 36 hours worked
  • 11 Paid Holidays:
    Following the Government calendar throughout the year

Job Description

The Medical Support Assistant will perform essential administrative, clerical, and patient coordination duties to ensure smooth daily operations and high-quality patient care delivery within the Great Plains Area Regional Drug Dependency Unit (GPARDDU).

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
  • Must have training and at least 24 months of direct patient care experience within the last 48 months
  • Certification in BLS in compliance with the American Heart Association
  • Must have proof of vaccinations and all health requirements set forth by Indian Health Services including but not limited to a PPD or TB Gold, Annual Influenza Vaccination, MMR, Tdap, Varicella, and Hep B
  • Must be able to physically complete all trainings and requirements set forth by Indian Health Service and Great Plains Area Drug Dependency Unit

Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient check-ins, scheduling, admissions, and discharge tracking for the residential unit
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation, patient charts, and files in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Coordinate patient data, phone communications, and messages between families, medical staff, and community agencies
  • Verify patient information, tribal enrollment documents, and health coverage program eligibility
  • Handle medical records in strict compliance with HIPAA and Indian Health Service (IHS) privacy regulations
  • Provide helpful, respectful customer service to support patients navigating substance abuse recovery services.
