Job Summary
Business:
Boys Town National Research Hospital. In a career as a Radiology Technologist, you will join us in providing life‑changing care to patients from across the region by operating radiographic equipment to create radiographs of designated body areas.
Full‑time, 3:00PM‑11:00PM, with call and holiday rotation. Locations:
West Hospital.
- Operate x‑ray equipment, including fluoroscopy, c‑arm, dental, and portable units, in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
- Position and instruct patients for each anatomical view using appropriate immobilization, support, and protective devices.
- Apply proper sterile technique during procedures.
- Prepare procedure rooms, including contrast media and barium setup, and administer materials per radiologist protocol.
- Assist providers during examination and treatment.
- Process images using digital radiography (DR) and computed radiography (CR) readers.
- Send images to PACS and demonstrate knowledge of basic PACS software.
- Route images and appropriate history electronically to the interpreting radiologist.
- Complete clerical and billing functions required for x‑ray studies.
- Maintain supplies, keeping a clean and orderly environment with aseptic technique and infection control.
- Report malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate personnel.
- Orient and train new staff; collaborate with students in the radiologic technology program.
- Participate in departmental performance improvement and survey readiness activities.
- Demonstrate behavior consistent with Radiology service standards.
- Provide patient care and education according to the patient population served.
- Graduate of an AMA‑approved accredited School of Radiologic Technology or a U.S. Military program of Radiologic Technology.
- ARRT certification in Radiography.
- Nebraska licensure.
- CPR certification.
