Mohs Histotechnician

** Essential Key Responsiblities:*
* + Specimen handling and processing including gross, embed, cut, stain and coverslip specimens for microscopic evaluation by the surgeon following established policies and procedures.

+ Prepare and evaluate stains, reagents and solutions necessary for slide prep following established policies and procedures.

+ Perform quality control and preventative maintenance procedures to assure instruments, stains and procedures are within acceptable standards by taking corrective action if necessary and notifying lab director/licensed health care practitioner.

+ Assist with quality assurance and proficiency testing following established policies and procedures.

+ Assists with regulatory compliance by maintaining accurate records.

+ Complete yearly competency testing.

+ Adhere to OSHA, CLIA and HIPPA regulations.

* + Completion of Mohs Training Program Required

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required
