Housekeeping Aide

Position: HOUSEKEEPING AIDE
Location: Gordon

POSITION SUMMARY This position performs day-to-day activities of the housekeeping department, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, to ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner to uphold a sanitary healing institution.

CORE

ACCOUNTABILITIES Cleans and services patient rooms, offices and hallways, as well as other inpatient, outpatient and ancillary areas.

Promotes and ensures patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.

Ensures proper supplies and equipment are maintained.

Performs other duties as assigned.

SCOPE OF IMPACT Maintains assigned area in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

Working in environmental services in a healthcare setting preferred

Housekeeping preferred

Licensure and Certification:

None Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

Cleaning products preferred

Basic cleaning procedures preferred

Relationship of sanitation and infection control preferred

Skills in:

Effective communication

Identifying problems; making frequent decisions regarding method of performance

Ability to:

Add, subtract, multiply, and divide

Generate, read, interpret

Work cooperatively to maintain good working relationships

Choose and mix proper cleaning solutions
