Position Type:
Full Time
Responsible for planning and managing all day-to-day laboratory services for the facility. Works with Medical Laboratory Director to maintain compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory requirements. Coordinates with providers, nursing staff and leadership to develop, implement and maintain laboratory operations to enhance the quality of care and achieve a high level of patient and physician satisfaction.
PRIMARYJOB DUTIES:

- Assign personnel to duties and oversees performance of all in-house and send out tests performed by laboratory department.
- Develops, reviews, and updates departmental policies and procedures, quality control programs, and corporate compliance.
- Reviews test results and quality control results to ensure quality laboratory results.
- Directs the preparation and maintenance of routine laboratory records, reports and/or analysis.
- Coordinates and conducts education and training programs for all laboratory personnel.
- Responsible for maintaining safe environment for all employees and patients of the department.
- Provides overall direction to ensure that laboratory services are provided in accordance with standards established by the hospital and outside regulatory and licensing agencies.
- Monitors and maintains the Quality Improvement Program for the laboratory.
- Responsible for departmental purchasing of routinely used supplies as well as minor and capital equipment purchases.
- Ensures the laboratory equipment is properly maintained and coordinates equipment repairs as appropriate.
- Collaborates with human resources for hiring, orientation, employee reviews, and performance improvement program.
- Analyzes financial data as provided and assists in preparation of departmental budget.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary members of facility to ensure delivery of all patient care services.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment, accept direction from supervisors, follow work rules and procedures, and ability to accept constructive criticism.
- Ability to lead and manage other effectively.
- Perform all applicable duties of laboratory personnel as needed.
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings/in-services, Brodstone Healthcare quality improvement program, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Lab Technology
Required
- 2 years hospital laboratory experience
Required
- MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification
