The Behavioral Health Assistant, under the supervision of professional nursing personnel, assists and provides patient care utilizing standards of care. Must be able to de-escalate crisis situations, maintain the milieu with a calm and professional approach, provide redirection, utilize de-escalation techniques, and conduct group activities with patients.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to de-escalate crisis situations and work with culturally diverse families and communities with sensitivity, compassion, and non-judgmental approach
• Ability to maintain a calm and professional approach, provide redirection, use de-escalation techniques, and separate situations
• Works well under pressure and consistently demonstrates a pleasant and professional demeanor
• Ability to conduct group activities with patients
• CPR certification and Comprehensive Crisis Management certification within 6 months of start date
• Previous behavioral health experience or enrollment in an associate or bachelor’s program
