We are seeking a Locum Tenens Physician Assistant in Holdrege, Nebraska.
Locum Tenens Physician Assistant
Specialty:
Physician - Emergency Medicine
Location: Nebraska.
Shift: Night Shift, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM; 60 hours every 2 weeks
Start Date: October 26, 2026
End Date: January 25, 2027
Position Details: 3–6 month contract. The PA will assess and manage patients presenting to the emergency department, communicate with the on-call physician as necessary, and respond to Rapid Response and Code Team activations as available.
Patient Population: Emergency Department patients
Setting: Emergency Department
Responsibilities: Take patient histories, perform physical examinations, diagnose and manage patients, initiate therapy or referrals, arrange admissions and discharges, perform hospital rounds, interpret patient data, provide patient education, perform or assist with laboratory and therapeutic procedures, and participate in process improvement activities. Emergency department responsibilities include patient assessment and management, physician consultation, Rapid Response and Code Team participation, and supervision of cardiac stress testing.
Required Procedures: Routine laboratory medical techniques, routine therapeutic procedures, and some surgical procedures.
EMR System: Meditech
Support Staff: On-call physician for the Emergency Department
Days Per Month: 60 hours every 2 weeks
On-Call/Weekends: Every 3rd weekend commitment; variable holidays. Holiday coverage required. No on-call.
Requirements:
- NCCPA certified – Required
- Current DEA certification – Required
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and ATLS certifications – Required
- Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited university – Required
