General Office Assistant – $19–$21/hour | Holdrege, NE

We're seeking a General Office Assistant in Holdrege, NE to support administrative and Human Resources functions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Holdrege, NE 68949
Pay: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Schedule:

Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Assignment Length:
Temporary position lasting 3–4 weeks, with potential to extend

Position Overview

The General Office Assistant will provide clerical and administrative support to specific departments within the company with a strong focus on Human Resources operations. This role includes data entry, mailings, system updates, and HR administrative support in a manufacturing facility.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, experienced in recruiting and onboarding, and comfortable handling confidential information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform administrative duties including maintaining employee databases and sorting HR communications

  • Maintain accurate records of employee attendance and leave to support payroll functions

  • Assist the HR Manager with policy administration, hiring processes, and salary administration

  • Submit online job postings, review applications, shortlist candidates, and schedule interviews

  • Coordinate orientation and training sessions for new employees

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and provide timely responses

  • Manage and coordinate HR department schedules, meetings, and events

  • Work with staffing agencies to support recruiting efforts

  • Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws

  • Handle confidential employee documents and personal information with discretion

Qualifications
  • Previous experience with recruiting and onboarding employees required

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage confidential information professionally

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-focused environment

  • Bilingual skills are a major plus
