Location: Offutt Air Force Base
Position Summary
The Cybersecurity Specialist supports the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of cybersecurity controls for classified and mission-critical information systems. This role focuses on protecting system confidentiality, integrity, and availability through security monitoring, vulnerability management, and compliance support activities in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity requirements and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor system security posture and support continuous monitoring activities
• Identify, analyze, and remediate system vulnerabilities
• Assist with implementation and validation of security controls
• Support RMF documentation, evidence collection, and artifact management
• Perform security scans and review results for compliance and risk
• Track security findings and remediation actions to closure
• Assist in development and maintenance of System Security Plans (SSPs)
• Support preparation for audits, inspections, CCRIs, and SAVs
• Coordinate with system administrators and engineers to implement security controls
• Support incident response activities and security impact assessments
• Maintain accurate security documentation and reporting
• Provide cybersecurity support for ATO and ATO renewal activities
• Ensure systems remain compliant with DoD cybersecurity policies and standards
Required Qualifications
• Experience supporting cybersecurity operations in DoD or classified environments
• Knowledge of RMF processes, security control implementation, and continuous monitoring
• Experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation tracking
• Familiarity with security tools and monitoring solutions
• Strong documentation and organizational skills
• Ability to manage security artifacts and compliance evidence
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work in mission-critical, classified environments
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting NC3, DRSN, or STRATCOM-aligned systems
• Prior experience supporting CCRI or SAV inspections
• Knowledge of classified system compliance requirements
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Security+, CySA+, SSCP, or equivalent)
• Experience maintaining audit-ready RMF documentation
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity and compliance frameworks
