At The Hour Glass, we are accelerating our digital and data transformation journey to enable smarter decision-making, advanced analytics, and AI-driven innovation across the Group. We are seeking a technically strong and forward-thinking Data Manager to design, build, and optimize scalable, AI-ready data solutions that empower the business.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on enterprise data architecture, cloud platforms, analytics enablement, and responsible AI practices. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to transform complex business needs into scalable data and AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities Data Transformation, Architecture & AI Enablement
  • Design and implement scalable end-to-end data pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, modelling, and delivery
  • Develop cloud-based data architectures to support analytics and AI workloads
  • Prepare high-quality, analysis-ready datasets to support AI and machine learning initiatives
  • Build and maintain curated data layers and feature datasets for AI applications
  • Optimise data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
Platform Ownership & Technical Delivery
  • Serve as the technical owner for enterprise data and analytics platforms
  • Configure, maintain, and optimise data warehouse and analytics environments
  • Support integrations across data, analytics, and AI ecosystems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform and pipeline-related issues
  • Continuously improve platform reliability, usability, and performance
Data Governance, Quality & Responsible AI
  • Implement and uphold data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, integrity, and accessibility across systems
  • Develop data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring processes
  • Maintain data lineage, metadata, and technical documentation
  • Support responsible AI practices, including privacy, compliance, and auditability
Analytics& Business Intelligence
  • Develop curated datasets and semantic layers for reporting and analytics
  • Enable predictive analytics, AI-assisted insights, and natural language querying capabilities
  • Support dashboard development and analytics performance optimisation
  • Partner with business users to translate requirements into scalable data solutions
  • Promote self-service analytics and data literacy across teams
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, team members, and vendors
  • Translate business requirements into practical data and AI solutions
  • Provide technical guidance on data usage, interpretation, and best practices
  • Communicate technical concepts and insights effectively to non-technical audiences
Requirements
  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
  • Experience in enterprise data transformation and analytics initiatives
  • Hands‑on experience with Snowflake, Qlik Sense, and Qlik Cloud
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
  • Relevant certifications in Snowflake, Qlik, or cloud technologies will be advantageous
  • Experience supporting client-focused retail or multi‑site business environments is preferred
Technical Skills
  • Strong experience with cloud-based data platforms and data warehousing
  • Proficiency in SQL and data transformation/orchestration tools
  • Familiarity with Python or similar languages for data processing and AI applications
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualisation tools
  • Exposure to AI/ML workflows and analytics integration
