Platform Engineer

Do you want to drive the platform development for one of Sweden's leading scheduling and staffing systems?

Medvind WFM is a modern, community-critical SaaS solution that operates in both private and public cloud (AWS). We constantly modernize our offering and are now looking for a Platform Engineer who is passionate about good architecture, performance, Dev Sec Ops , and Fin Ops.

In this role, you will become a key person in our Dev Ops team. Our platform is fundamentally based on Microsoft Windows Server and SQL Server, but it is delivered in a cloud architecture where we strive for high availability. In this role, you will be responsible for our platform with a special focus on the following tasks and areas:

You will modernize and further develop our infrastructure. You will ensure that our platform is always dynamically scalable, fault-tolerant, and ready to handle high load - both today and in the future. We aim to become more container-based, so all knowledge and experience of moving from monolith to containers are meritorious.

At Visma, security is the highest priority and we have industry-leading security requirements. You will implement Dev Sec Ops  in practice by ensuring that our infrastructure is continuously managed as code (Infrastructure as Code). You will build security directly into the code through principles and practices.

You will work proactively with Fin Ops to ensure that we use the cloud in a cost-effective way. This includes optimizing our existing instances, evaluating, and implementing the use of Spot instances.

One of your tasks will be to help design, build, and manage a seamless and automated path from commit to production. We use Git Hub for source code management today. Your goal is to improve this process so that the development team can release new functionality without friction and downtime.

You will support the team in upgrading, configuring, and installing new and existing customers.

We act as third-line support for customers with technical questions about environments and integrations.

We are looking for you who have a strong technical drive and previous experience in driving platform development. As a person, you are responsible, solution-oriented, and communicate unreservedly in both Swedish and English. You are a team player who thrives in close collaboration with others to drive the work forward and gladly share knowledge in a prestigious way.

We believe that you have:

• Several years of documented experience with AWS and building architecture according to best practices.
• You are an expert in Infrastructure as Code (IAC).
• You have an inherent security mindset and are comfortable with concepts such as Dev Sec Ops .
• You are driven to automate manual processes and have documented experience in building CI/CD pipelines in tools like Git Hub Actions, Team City, or Octopus Deploy.
• You have a cost-conscious mindset (Fin Ops) and know how to optimize resource usage in the public cloud.
• Documented experience in operating the Microsoft stack (Windows Server, SQL Server).

Documented experience and knowledge of moving from monolith to containers.
