Somali Interpreter

Job Overview

We are a busy interpreting service provider seeking full‑bilingual Somali interpreters in the Omaha area to provide in‑person language interpretation for local clients.

• Fully bilingual in Somali and English
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Must have access to a printer and transportation to attend appointments locally
• Technical skills for learning and using an online portal (printing and uploading vouchers required)
• Interpreting experience and/or certification preferred
• Background checks and drug screens required
• Availability M-F 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (schedule PRN, part‑time or less depending on availability and language needs)

This is an independent contractor position with flexible hours. Hours are not guaranteed and are based on availability, languages spoken, and client needs.

Proof of vaccination is required to comply with client health and safety requirements. Medical or religious exemptions may be considered. Submit documentation prior to the interview. All medical information will be handled confidentially in accordance with applicable laws.
