POSITION SUMMARY
The General Foreman is a highly experienced frontline leader responsible for overseeing multiple foremen and their crews on major transmission projects. Typically managing a span of control of 10–20 craft workers, General Foremen coordinate across trades and tasks to maintain alignment with daily and weekly plans, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and schedule expectations.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Multi-Crew Coordination & Site Execution
* Lead and coordinate multiple crews through assigned foremen, ensuring all work fronts operate safely and efficiently.
* Review work plans and translate them into clear daily execution strategies.
* Support sequencing, staging, and logistics in collaboration with site supervision.
* Identify field issues, adjust plans as needed, and escalate concerns that impact critical path execution.
Safety Leadership & Field Compliance
* Ensure all crews follow safe work procedures, hazard assessments, and permitting protocols.
* Lead field safety engagements and participate in audits, incident reviews, and toolbox talks.
* Coach foremen on hazard recognition, stop work authority, and safe crew leadership practices.
* Reinforce safety expectations and culture through daily oversight and direct engagement.
Quality Assurance & Work Verification
* Review and confirm readiness of work fronts in alignment with drawings, specs, and QA expectations.
* Ensure required inspections, documentation, and redlines are tracked and submitted accurately.
* Support installation verification, deficiency resolution, and coordination with QA or client inspection teams.
* Oversee drilled pier depth, diameter, alignment, and cleanliness of foundations.
* Oversee reinforcement placement and cage installation.
* Oversee concrete placement, testing, and curing.
* Hold foremen accountable for maintaining high-quality, audit-ready documentation and site conditions.
Schedule Coordination & Productivity Monitoring
* Support daily and weekly planning with Foreman, including crew assignments and productivity targets.
* Monitor progress across crews and adjust as needed to maintain alignment with schedule commitments.
* Track labor hours, installed quantities, and field metrics for use in reporting and forecasting.
* Identify barriers to productivity and work with leadership to implement corrective measures.
Leadership & Communication
* Serve as the day-to-day field representative for site supervision, clients, or subcontractors as delegated.
* Provide coaching, feedback, and mentorship to Foremen and craft workers.
* Support new worker onboarding, role clarity, and integration into site processes.
* Participate in site coordination meetings and communicate project expectations to frontline teams.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
* 6-10 years of construction experience, including direct supervision of multiple crews.
* 3-6 years experience installing drilled pier foundations
* Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to manage field execution at scale.
* Deep knowledge of utility construction practices, safety protocols, and QA/QC expectations.
* Ability to interpret construction schedules, task plans, and work packages.
* Comfortable using reporting systems, digital forms, and site communication tools.
* Safety training (e.g., CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid) and site leadership credentials required.
* Valid driver’s license and ability to support work at active or remote project sites.
Pay: $58.00 - $60.
