Position: General Maintenance (Weekend Shift)
Location: Wilcox Trailer Court

Position Summary

This position is responsible for industrial maintenance duties on equipment, machinery, building, and grounds. This work includes, but is not limited to, machine installation and construction, plumbing, carpentry, and basic electrical work.

Essential Functions
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery and equipment.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling machines or components using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.
  • Diagnose problems and perform necessary repairs to safely return equipment to acceptable operating condition.
  • Perform planned maintenance activities such as cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery or plant equipment, and installing electrical equipment.
  • Work on hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electronic components, including replacing AC and DC motors.
  • Operate and perform MIG and Arc welding as necessary.
  • Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
  • Foster professionalism with all associates and internal/external customers.
  • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, eliminate risk to health and the environment, and report safety incidents immediately.

  • Participate in peer-based teams and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5‑S.
  • Participate on project teams, star point teams and Kaizen events when needed.
  • Attend and participate in all training opportunities required to develop in the role.
  • Minimum Requirements
    • Education: 2‑year technical degree in electrical field or equivalent preferred.
    • Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing preferred.

        Near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks.
      • Requires constant alertness to surroundings and product quality with attention to detail.
      • Must be able to operate material handling equipment and hoist, if needed.
    • Physical Requirements:
      • Operate material handling equipment.
      • Perform work in hot and cold temperatures.
      • Includes outdoor work.
      • Ability to work at heights above ground‑level.

      Ability to work well in a team environment.
    • Assessment: Must successfully complete pre‑employment screening.
    Organizational Relationships / Scope
    • Report directly to Facilities Specialist.
    • Work closely with other departments to resolve issues with the processes & equipment.
    Working Conditions
    • High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.
    • Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels.
    • May be exposed to nuisance fumes and dust.
  • Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, high visibility clothing).
  • Standing is required for extended periods of time; walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting performed on a regular basis.
  • Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions.
  • Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
