Legacy Coop is looking for a Custom Applicator to join our Gordon, NE Agronomy team. The custom applicator is responsible for applying fertilizer and/or agricultural chemicals for our Legacy patrons in and around the Gordon, Nebraska area. The ideal candidate must have a valid CDL with Class A and hazmat endorsements. Legacy Coop is willing to help the right candidate acquire their CDL.
This position is full-time and comes with Legacy Coop's full-time benefits package including retirement, 401K, holiday, vacation and sick time, as well as competitive pay and acre bonuses.
Tasks (including but not limited to)- Operate designated liquid or dry application equipment as needed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Work closely with producers and fellow employees to provide outstanding customer service.
- Perform winter maintenance on fertilizer equipment and make needed improvements on all fertilizer facilities.
- Keep files current with maintenance records on all fertilizer application equipment, delivery trucks and pickups.
- Deliver, load and unload liquid and dry fertilizer, chemicals and seed.
- Follow government and safety regulations concerning the handling and sales of fertilizer and agricultural chemicals.
- Assist with ordering and stocking all equipment parts for company use or resale to producers.
- Participate in good housekeeping practices and environmental stewardship on premises.
- Enforce safety, health, and security rules.
- All other duties assigned by operations manager.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications- Must have valid commercial driver's license with Class A and hazmat endorsement (or the ability to obtain).
- Must have valid custom applicator license (or the ability to obtain).
- Must be able to operate custom applicator equipment and forklift.
- Knowledge of applicable transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 pounds), climb ladders, and perform other physically demanding tasks as needed.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
