Overview

General Production – Rendering at Gibbon Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, located in Gibbon, NE.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with maintenance of daily logs, report unsafe conditions, and record plant operating data as required.
• Complete inspections of equipment to determine whether sanitation is adequate to begin rendering process.
• Assemble and test rendering equipment (expellers, grinders, pumps, pipes, blades, cooking tanks).
• Open valves and start pumps and conveyors to move materials through rendering process.
• Monitor temperature gauges and rate of flow and condition of materials passing through cookers, expellers, and grinders; adjust valves and flow rate as needed.
• Dump guts, bones, tissue, and other inedible parts into a chute leading to storage containers for cooking tanks destined for inedible processing.
• Label storage containers as "Not for Consumption".
• Notify leadership if equipment malfunctions.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures (warm, hot, humid, cold, wet) and on moving equipment, at varied heights, and with slippery surfaces using PPE.
• Must be able to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday–Saturday with daily overtime; overtime may be required as production needs dictate.
• Must successfully complete required training: safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), food defense.
