General Production - 1st Shift - Tecumseh, NE

Job Summary

The General Production Team Members support the Smart Chicken poultry processing operations by performing a variety of production and labor functions as assigned. Team members will be placed in the position they chose at the time of hiring and may be rotated across multiple areas of the facility based on operational needs, staffing requirements, and business demand. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Hanging live birds
• Handling and processing inedible materials in accordance with food safety and environmental standards
• Trimming product to ensure proper quality standards are met
• Rehanger labor to ensure proper product flow
• Sorting duties, ensuring product meets FPS standards
• Whole bird processing and specialty handling
• Production flex assignments, rotating between positions as needed to support production requirements
• Adherence to all food safety, quality, animal welfare, and workplace safety policies
• Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, tools, and equipment as required

Manufacturing environment with exposure to humid or warm temperatures, cold temperatures, wet conditions, and poultry products (below 40°F). Standing and walking for extended periods. Repetitive motions and frequent use of hands and arms. Lifting, pushing, pulling, and handling product. Willing to lift/carry up to 45 lbs. Use of knives or cutting tools following all safety procedures. Bending and stooping, occasional squat, reach above shoulder up to 2 ft.,

crouch, kneel, balance, occasionally climb height 5–10 ft.

Ability to work assigned shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. Willingness to rotate between departments or positions based on operational needs.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Commitment to safety, quality, attendance, and performance expectations. Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 90 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
