Position Overview

This role involves constructing industrial electro-mechanical reel products by assembling structural, mechanical, and electrical components based on production documentation, drawings, wiring instructions, and quality standards. Attention to detail and the ability to solve assembly challenges in a collaborative setting are essential for success in this position. The ideal candidate should be independent, quality-focused, and adept at using production tools, measuring instruments, wiring instructions, and workshop procedures to complete accurate assemblies.

They may also offer insights to engineering, manufacturing, sales, or service teams in addressing product, drawing, or customer-related concerns.

Primary Responsibilities

· Assemble mechanical, structural, and electrical components to create finished reel products following work orders, drawings, and instructions.

· Wire installations and connection of color-coded wires in accordance with wiring specifications and production demands.

· Utilize shop tools and equipment like cut-off saws, drill presses, hand tools, power tools, and assembly fixtures.

· Test, adjust, inspect, and validate the quality and functionality of electrical and mechanical assemblies.

· Review diagrams, production orders, and customer specifications; escalate unclear or inaccurate information to supervisors or engineering teams.

· Ensure the accuracy of information from engineering, sales, and manufacturing to guarantee the final product meets customer expectations.

· Communicate modifications or corrections to prevent recurring quality issues in future builds.

· Provide assistance for field service or start-up opportunities as necessary and appropriate.

· Uphold 5S, safety, quality, and environmental standards in the work environment.

Background and Skills

· High school diploma or GED required; relevant technical training or assembly experience preferred.

· Two to five years of experience in electrical or mechanical assembly highly desired.

· Proficiency in operating cut-off saws, drill presses, hand tools, and power tools.

· Ability to use measuring devices and perform basic shop mathematics involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

· Experience in blueprint interpretation, drawing analysis, wiring document understanding, or procedure reading is advantageous.

· Soldering experience is beneficial.

· Capability to comprehend safety regulations, operating instructions, maintenance guidelines, and procedure manuals.

· Willingness and capability to attain in-house certification for forklift and overhead crane operation prior to equipment usage.

Physical Requirements

· Manufacturing setting requiring regular standing, walking, reaching, handling of parts, and proximity to moving mechanical machinery.

· Ability to lift and transport heavy objects as needed for the role while adhering to safe material-handling protocols.

· Essential visual faculties such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment for quality and assembly tasks.

· Occasional exposure to humidity, fumes, airborne particles, or moderate shop noise possible.
