Metal CNC Technician
We are seeking a motivated Metal Fabrication Professional to set up, operate, and maintain cutting-edge machinery for shaping metal and various materials into precise parts based on blueprints and specifications. This position focuses on safety, precision, efficiency, and continuous enhancement within a collaborative manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain CNC laser, waterjet, press brakes, metal rollers, rotary punch presses, coil straighteners/feeders, sanders, drills, milling machines, grinders, shears, ironworkers, and saws safely and efficiently.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to create parts to precise specifications.
- Utilize calipers, micrometers, rules, squares, angle gauges, and height gauges for accurate measurements to ensure quality.
- Manage inventory transactions, labor times, and production data in ERP systems while meeting material deadlines.
- Identify opportunities for more efficient part fabrication and contribute to departmental progress and process enhancements.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills to work independently while meeting production deadlines.
- Uphold 5S initiatives, quality standards, and safety procedures, maintaining core operational values.
- Attain and keep certifications for forklift and overhead crane operation; training provided.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 1–2 years of experience in a fabrication or job shop environment, or an equivalent combination.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and using a variety of measuring tools.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and transactions is a plus.
- Strong math skills including dimensions, quantities, conversions, algebra, and geometry.
- Logical problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Diligent, critical thinker, and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
In this role, employees may encounter metal debris, coolant, moving parts, and airborne particles regularly. There may be exposure to wet conditions, high temperatures, and chemicals. The noise level can be moderate to loud. The job involves standing, walking, using hands for tools/machinery, reaching, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling, as well as lifting heavy items frequently. Visual acuity required includes close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
