About the Position

College and Program Development generates financial support for Cal State Fullerton, benefiting the eight colleges, Student Affairs, Titan Athletics, the Arboretum and Botanical Garden, and the Pollak Library. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Associate Director of Development, College of the Arts (Administrator I). The Associate Director of Development reports to the Senior Director of Development for the College of the Arts. Fundraising activities align with the priorities of the Vice President for University Advancement and the Dean of the College. Responsibilities include identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift prospects and donors, including corporate and foundation leaders, supporters, alumni, parents, faculty, and emeriti. The role also encompasses individual and corporate giving, membership development, and maintaining a multi-interval strategic fundraising plan with prospect management responsibilities.

Additionally, the position assists the Senior Director with fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship events. The role works with the Senior Director to advise Board members and event committees; partners with corporate and foundation relations specialists in preparing corporate, foundation, and government grant proposals; and performs gift processing procedures through the Cal State Fullerton Philanthropic Foundation. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Director with fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship events.
  • Provide counsel and expertise to Board members and event committees; collaborate with corporate and foundation relations specialists on grant proposals.
  • Process gifts through the Cal State Fullerton Philanthropic Foundation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications
:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university and a minimum of two years of fundraising experience, with the ability to solicit and secure gifts of at least $1,000. Demonstrated superior written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work within a university culture.
