We’re hiring a Director of Major Gifts at the Chadron State Foundation.
This is a relationship-centered fundraising role for someone who enjoys meeting people, listening to what matters to them, and connecting their interests with opportunities that benefit Chadron State College students and programs.
The person in this role will:
- Build and manage a portfolio of major gift and leadership annual giving prospects
- Develop relationships through personal visits, thoughtful follow-up, and small donor gatherings
- Create clear proposals that connect donor interests with College priorities
- Identify planned giving opportunities
- Maintain accurate donor and pipeline information
- Work closely with the CEO and Foundation team to move significant opportunities forward
We are open to candidates with direct fundraising experience and those with transferable experience in relationship management, alumni engagement, nonprofit development, community outreach, financial services, sales, or similar work.
LocationThis position may be based onsite in Chadron or through a hybrid arrangement. Preference will be given to candidates who live in or near:
- Chadron and western Nebraska
- Lincoln or Omaha
- Denver and the Colorado Front Range
- Rapid City and the Black Hills
- Scottsbluff or Gering
The position requires regular regional travel, estimated at 30 to 40 percent, along with some evening and weekend work.
We may hire at one of three levels based on experience:
- Associate Director: $50,000 to $60,000
- Director: $60,000 to $75,000
- Senior Director: $75,000, with compensation commensurate with experience and demonstrated fundraising results, up to $110,000.
The position includes employee benefits, retirement eligibility, paid leave, and potential relocation assistance.
