40.00 Salary Range: $24.00 - $36.00

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge.
  • Utilize appropriate age- and population-specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan.
  • Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provide the care needed.
  • Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations.
  • Ensure the health, comfort and safety of residents.
  • Assess residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
  • Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, health care providers, and the public; collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
  • Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Counsel residents, family members and/or resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician.
  • Utilize knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
  • If IV therapy/management skills are required, the following applies in North Dakota: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
  • Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span or have at least 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility. Specific services/positions may have additional education, training or experience requirements.
  • Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges. Obtains and maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.
