Job Responsibilities
- Locate patients and obtain vital signs by visual and auditory measures
- Triage patients and assess medical condition
- Prepare patients for physicals and medical treatment
- Use electronic medical record system
- Order lab, X-ray, and medical supplies as directed
- Notify Nurse/Physician when patient is ready for exam and relay symptoms and lab or X-ray needs
- Assist Nurses and Physicians with various patient treatments
- Handle Physician and Nurse requests with respect and in a timely manner
- Perform laboratory duties as assigned
- Perform phlebotomy procedures
- Sterilize and set up instruments
- Receive and store supplies
- Restock treatment rooms as needed
- Report to Charge Nurse before leaving at end of shift
- Follow ancillary guidelines as directed by Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, DMS, and Physician
- Adhere to established policies and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of treatment area and complete biological cleanup per OSHA guidelines and other maintenance assignments
- Wash, dry, fold, and restock laundry; maintain cleanliness of washing machine and dryer lint trap
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled by Nurse Supervisor or DMS
- Operate, use, and maintain medical and office equipment as trained
- Complete assigned checklists and Policy Manager tasks within shift
- Be available to assist as needed; breaks and mealtimes may be interrupted to provide patient care or maintain center operations
- Foster teamwork and ensure a positive and professional atmosphere
- Provide positive, warm, and friendly service in all interactions
- Understand and perform all duties as assigned
- 18 years of age or older
- Minimum typing experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in hospital or physician’s office (preferred)
- Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for 4 to 7 hours at a time
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Attendance at scheduled CPR classes and code drills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Willingness to work at any center due to staffing or emergency or reduction in work
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by Maryland Board of Nursing
Salary Range: $19.50 - $22.00, depending on experience.
