Active participant of the Nebraska Rural Health Workforce Incentive Program that offers monetary incentives to nursing professionals, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, in exchange for a service commitment to work in a rural county for a 5‑year period.

Nursing

• Provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long‑term care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
• Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting.
• Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise and utilizes age‑ and population‑specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per the care plan.
• Performs testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provides the care needed.
• Ensures the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
• Contributes to the assessment of residents and administers medications or treatments as ordered.
• Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
• Documents resident interactions and related outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
• Skillfully establishes and maintains effective working relationships with residents, health care providers, and the public.
• Works effectively with professional staff as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
• Counsels residents, family members, and/or resident advocate, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician on prevention and treatment plans.
• Implements resident education principles to develop a self‑care program.

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
• If the position requires IV therapy/management skills, completion of a Board approved AASPN program with IV therapy curriculum or an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing is required.
• Must have attended a pre‑licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the lifespan or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility.
• Possesses current unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with the State Nursing Board and/or multi‑state licensure privileges.
• Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training as required by the department and facility.
