Active participant of the Nebraska Rural Health Workforce Incentive Program that offers monetary incentives to select nursing professionals, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, in exchange for a service commitment to work in a rural county for a 5-year period.
Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents.
- Collaborate with residents, families, and inter-disciplinary colleagues, including providers, to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge using appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in the assigned clinical setting.
- Provide care to residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Coordinate care, conduct resident assessments, provide resident education, and perform various nursing interventions.
- Serve as charge nurse, delegating appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel within their job descriptions, skills, resident care needs, and competence level.
- Provide adequate assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe, reliable administration of resident care and resolution of care and service concerns.
- Operate within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in the state of practice and licensure.
- Recognize the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.
- Preferred:
Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program, including but not limited to CCNE, ACEN, and NLN CNEA. - Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. - Current holder of an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring, or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
